Welcome home, USS Abraham Lincoln

By Stout Public House ·

To the sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln and Carrier Air Wing 9, and to the families, partners, and friends who kept everything running while they were gone: welcome home. From all of us at Stout Public House, thank you. San Diego is glad to have you back.

Home after 320 days

The Lincoln left Naval Station San Diego on November 21, 2025, and deployed to the Middle East. It is due back at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado around noon on Thursday, October 8, 2026, closing out a deployment of about 320 days. That makes it the second-longest carrier deployment since the Vietnam War, behind only the USS Gerald R. Ford’s 326 days.

The numbers give some sense of the work: roughly 4,500 people aboard, 72 replenishments at sea, about 28,500 flight hours for the air wing, and some four million meals out of the ship’s galleys, according to KPBS and Military Times. Behind every one of those numbers is someone who missed birthdays, holidays, and ordinary Tuesday nights at home.

Where to watch the Lincoln come in

No base access? You can still wave the carrier in from around the bay. KPBS lists these public viewing spots:

Arrival times can change, so check local news Thursday morning before you head out.

When you’re ready, pull up a stool

Thursday belongs to the pier and the people you’ve been missing. Whenever you’re ready for an evening out, whether that’s the same night or a few weeks from now, come see us. After four million meals from the galley, you’ve earned one cooked by someone else: a proper Reuben, Guinness stew, fish & chips, chicken pot pie, or a full Irish breakfast. And since Navy ships are dry, the first Guinness back on land deserves a slow, proper pour. We’ve been pouring them on Sixth Avenue since 2007.

Bring the whole crew. Families are welcome: all ages can dine with us until 9pm, when the kitchen closes and Stout becomes 21+. The bar stays open until 2am.
