Padres vs. Yankees: make Stout your before-and-after stop

Got tickets to the Padres–Yankees series? Make a little more of your day downtown. Start with a meal at Stout Public House, 1125 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, or head our way after the final out. We’re a neighborhood Irish pub just off the Gaslamp, with a proper Guinness pour, pub food, and a welcome for both jerseys.

The Yankees visit Petco Park September 4–6, 2026. Stout opens at 11am Friday and Sunday, and 4pm Saturday. The kitchen closes at 9pm every night; the bar stays open until 2am.

Your game-day plan, Friday through Sunday

All first-pitch times below are San Diego time (PDT), confirmed with MTS’s official series guide. Check the Padres schedule for any changes.

• Friday, September 4 — 6:40pm first pitch. Stout opens at 11am. Come by for lunch or an early dinner before heading to the ballpark. Returning after the game? Join us for a pint, but plan to eat beforehand: our kitchen closes at 9pm.
• Saturday, September 5 — 4:15pm first pitch. Stout opens at 4pm, so make us your postgame stop. Head up after the final out for dinner if you arrive before the kitchen closes at 9pm, or settle in for a drink later in the evening.
• Sunday, September 6 — 1:10pm first pitch. Stout opens at 11am. Get an early lunch before the game, leaving time for your walk and stadium entry, or make an afternoon of it with a meal here afterward.

A real meal before the ballpark

A Reuben, fish & chips, or wings makes a fine start to a baseball day. Take a look at our current menu, pick your order, and give yourself time to sit down and enjoy it. Friday’s evening start leaves room for an early dinner; Sunday is the early-lunch play.

We’ve been here since 2007. You’ll recognize the place by the hockey jerseys, the Irish pub feel, and the regulars at the bar. Visiting from New York? Bring the cap. There’s room for a little friendly baseball disagreement.

After the final out, keep the evening going

The game ends; your night downtown doesn’t have to. Meet back at Stout to talk through the big inning, catch up with friends, or take a seat before heading home. Check what’s on tap and make us the meeting point for your group.

Food until 9pm. Bar until 2am. All ages are welcome to dine before 9pm; Stout is 21+ after 9pm.

Getting from Petco Park to Stout

Stout is north of the ballpark at 1125 Sixth Avenue, near Sixth and C Street, just off the Gaslamp. Use walking directions from Petco Park to Stout for the route from your exit. Allow extra time for crowds and crossings, especially if you’re walking back down before first pitch.

Trolley directions: Petco Park to Stout and back

Use Fifth Avenue station for Stout. It’s on C Street between Fifth and Sixth, served by the Blue and Orange lines. Walk toward Sixth Avenue, then turn south to 1125 Sixth Avenue.

• After the game: at 12th & Imperial, board the Blue Line toward UTC or Orange Line toward Courthouse. Exit at Fifth Avenue, after Park & Market and City College, then walk to Stout.
• From Stout to the game: walk back to Fifth Avenue and take the Blue Line toward San Ysidro. Exit at 12th & Imperial and walk to Petco Park.
• Arriving on the Green Line? Transfer at Santa Fe Depot to the Blue Line toward San Ysidro and exit at Fifth Avenue for Stout. The Green Line’s Gaslamp Quarter stop is by the ballpark, not the pub.
